Dr. Timko, DC, DACNB is passionate about holistic health and getting you back to the things you want to do. Where medical doctors have given up on you, Dr. Timko strives to be your advocate. She is your cheerleader, confidant, and support system. She addresses more than your neurological symptoms and loves discussing sleep, nutrition, mental health, exercise, and lifestyle to heal more than just your brain.

Dr. Timko is originally from Chicago, IL where she was first introduced to functional neurology. She spent many years working with and shadowing functional neurologists there, and learned functional neurology offers hope to those who have been failed by more traditional treatments. She became extremely interested in the brain and received bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Nutritional Sciences and Neurobiology. Dr. Timko also spent 4 years conducting academic research in a neuroscience lab, which gives her a unique appreciation of how cutting-edge neuroscience research intersects with her clinical practice. However, Dr. Timko missed interacting with patients and seeing the impact her research had on the lives of real people. She spent additional time working with Parkinson’s patients and creating exercise programs for disabled adults and children.

Dr. Timko then earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University, graduating with highest honors and earning her place on the President’s honor roll. Dr. Timko is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board, a high honor awarded to functional neurology specialists who complete over 300 hours of training in functional neurology through the Carrick Institute and pass board examinations. She has attended conferences including the International Symposium on Clinical Neuroscience, Synapse Sessions, and Brain Based Adjusting to hone her adjusting and neurological examination skills. In addition to her formal training in neurology, she has training in Active Release Technique and instrument assisted soft tissue technique.

In her free time, Dr. Timko enjoys weight lifting, spending time in nature, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her partner and two cats.
